The activated carbon filter can further reduce the SDI valve of RO incoming water and guarantee the SDI<5, TOC<2.0ppm.Operating principle:The activated carbon filter mainly uses organic flocs of activated carbon with high carbon content, big molecular weight and large specific surface area to make a physical adsorption of impurities in water, to reach the water quality requirement. When water flows through the activated charcoal pore, All kinds of suspended particles and organic matter in the role of van der Waals' force (VDW) is adsorbed on activated carbon pore, and the chloride (hypochlorous acid) absorbed to activated carbon surface is reduced to chlorine ion by chemical reaction, which is effectively remove the chlorine to ensure effluent residual chlorine content is less than 0.1ppm and meet the operation conditions of RO membrane. The interception matter left between the pores and particles of activated carbon are increasing over time, which raise the filter differential pressure until the failure. Usually, it releases and removes the most interception matter absorbed to the activated carbon surface by reverse flow of water backwash filter material based on the differential pressure for recovering adsorption function; however, regeneration or replacement of activated carbon must be performed when the activated carbon is saturated and adsorption capacity is completely failure, so as to meet the project requirements.
